Abstract In this study, the HZSM-5 catalyst, as well as the Ca-HZSM-5 with ratios of Ca/Al=9 ،Ca/Al=27 and Ca/Al=54 have been synthesized by hydrothermal treatment under reflux condition. The average partical size of the synthesized nanocatalysts were measured in the range of 150-200 nm. The catalysts performance were evaluated at 440,390 and 490? with WHSV=5.5h-1 as well as at 490? with WHSV=3.5h-1 under atmospheric conditions and with pure methanol feed. Physical-chimical properties of prepared catalysts were determined by using XRD, BET, SEM-EDX and FT–IR analytical techniques. The results indicate the total area of the catalysts is reduced with the increase of the percentage of the calcium metal. By investigate the methanol conversion of each catalyst, it was determined that by increasing the reaction temperature up from 390? to 490? with WHSV=5.5h-1. The methanol conversion and selectivity of the propylene increases. The Ca-HZSM-5 (Ca/Al=27) catalyst could be considered as the best catalyst due to the highest selectivity of the propylene compared to other catalysts and less amount of coke formation than the basis catalyst.
