Abstract Extraction from solid particles is one of the most common operations in chemical engineering application and industry. Depending on the solids type, extracting material and operating conditions, various kinds of fluids can be used as the solvent. CO2 is a high efficiency fluid that can be used as the solvent at high temperature and pressure or in supercritical state. In this paper, mathematical modeling of supercritical CO2 extraction is studied by using three different modeling approach. This approaches are based on the differential mass balance along the extraction column. Depending on the elements of differential, the obtained equations and results are different and debatable. Resulted differential equations were solved by numerical analysis (finite difference) and method of line by using ODE MATLAB command. ODE equations were solved by four times Runge – Kata’s method. Also MATLAB optimization toolbox was applied to find the optimum values of the adjustable parameters. All three models showed a good adaptation with exprimental data. Due to the considering of non-uniform radius concentration distribution, Second and Third models are more accurate than the First one.
