Abstract Pressure Vaccume Swing Adsorption (PVSA) is an efficient separation method in gas, oil and petrochemical industries. PVSA is a cyclic separation process whose main steps are adsorption, at high pressure, and regeneration of the adsorbent, at low pressure. In this thesis the pilot of pressure vaccume swing adsorption was installed and prepared to study and investigate the process of carbon dioxide recovery from the mixture with nitrogen and oxygen by 5A zeolite adsorbent.Gas sepration is performed in this pilot plant which include two adsorption bed 76cm long, during six steps: feed pressurisation, adsorption in high-pressure, blow-down, evacuation, purge and preloading. Experiments were done in constant pressure 3 bar for different cyclic times between 310 through 450 second. The effects of various parameters such as cyclic time, product and purge flow rate on purity and recovery was studied. Prior to performing the experiments, adsorption time was calculated by bed simulation using Differential Quadrature Method (DQM). Experiments concerning system performance reveal that the best erformance is obtained in constant pressure of 3 bar and 440 second cyclic time with 94 percent CO2 purity and 28.8 percent CO2 recovery.
