چکیده

Natural gas is an important source of energy in the world and it is a feedstock for many petrochemical plants throughout the world. Producing hydrogen from natural gas can be used as a clean fuel. Water gas shift reaction to produce hydrogen is one of the most important reaction in the industry. This reaction owing to hydrogen production at the same time reducing carbon monoxide is very important. In this research, firstly, two-dimensional reactor's petrochemical ammonia unit of shiraz at low temperature by computational fluid dynamics technique simulated that reactor's bed is porous whit porosity of 0.45, and effects of various parameters such as inlet velocity and reactor's wall temperature on performance of the reactor is evaluated. The results show that by increasing the inlet fluid's velocity and decrease the reactor's wall temperature, produced hydrogen and carbon monoxide consumption decreases. In the following, by simulating a fixed bed reactor that reactor's bed are filled with a regular basis via spherical and cylindrical catalysts, effect of shape and arrangement of the catalysts has been studied and results are compared in two arrangement of triangle and square whit two types of spherical and cylindrical catalysts. By comparing the results it was concluded with the same of mass of catalysts, triangular arrangement of spherical catalysts resulted in the superior reactor performance.
