چکیده

In this paper, third generation solar cells namely dye synthesize solar cells along with their advantages, challenges, and various material involved are introduced and discussed. Dye synthesize solar cells are cheap cells with easy fabrication techniques and hence have prominent potential as an alternative for silicon based solar cells. The main advantages of such cells are their simple fabrication technique in addition to cheap material involved which makes them suitable considering their appropriate efficiency. Such cells have rather low efficiency compared to silicon based solar cells or organic cells however, their advantages attracted a great deal of attentions toward such technology. Consequently various researchers seek mechanism to improve dye synthesize solar cells efficiency or fabrication technique. Promising techniques that can improve the efficiency of such structures are inclusion of plasmonic nanoparticles as well as up-converter particles and hence these techniques are discussed in detail throughout the present paper.
