چکیده

Background: Since the reduction of fossil reserves and policy restrictions on the utilization of nuclear fuels will make mankind face difficulties in supplying energy, therefore, utilizing solar energy, the eternal and free source, as an alternative energy, is absolutely reasonable and necessary. In this regard, the cost of the needed energy supply for Phase 13 of South Pars gas platform was considered by two ways, one solar energy and the other one the current common way which is the fossil fuel (by taking two scenarios into account, the real price of gasoline for the first scenario and the subsidized price of gasoline for the second scenario), in order to study the need for utilization of solar energy through comparing the obtained costs. Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to consider cost-benefit of the solar energy utilization in Phase 13 of South Pars gas platform instead of using fossil fuels to provide the energy necessary to the mentioned platform, in the short-term and long-term timescales. Methodology: The cost per unit of energy in photovoltaic systems, taking into account factors such as the real discount rate, lifetime of the system and the amount of solar radiation in the region and for diesel system (with both real and subsidized prices of gasoline) considering real discount rate, investment costs, operational costs and other items was evaluated through an analytical method of life cycle cost in order to study cost-benefit of the solar energy utilization, instead of fossil fuel, to provide the energy necessary to Phase 13 of South Pars gas platform. Conclusion: The results gained from the two models related to cost-benefit analysis of using solar power plant instead of fossil power plant (with two scenarios of real and subsidized prices of gasoline) to provide the energy necessary to Phase 13 of South Pars gas platform using a life cycle of 30 years indicate that the cost per unit of energy generated by solar power plant for this study is 2612
