Abstract

At first, we found that the condensation reaction of phenylglyoxal, 2-hydroxynaphtoquinone and aminouracil derivatives leads to the efficient synthesis of 2H –pyrrolo[2,3-d] pyrimidine -2,4 - (3H) -dione derivatives in good yields. In the second part of the study, derivatives of 3-hydroxy-1,4-dihydronephthalen-2-yl-1H-benzo [f] indole-4,9-dione were prepared through the reaction of phenylglyoxal, 2-hydroxy naphthoquinone and 3-amino-1,4-naphthoquinone derivatives in the presence of acetic acid and water as solvent and under reflux conditions
