Abstract

In this paper, the determination of a control structure for discrete-time MIMO switched systems is addressed. In the first step, for discrete-time switched systems, the concept of nice cross-gramians is proposed and the existence of the proposed nice cross-gramian is investigated. It has been demonstrated that the nice cross-gramian can be achieved as a solution to a specific algebraic matrix equation, if it exists. While the proposed crossgramian can be used in a lot of applications including model reduction, in this paper, it has been used to form the Nice Hankel Interaction Index Array (NHIIA) for control structure selection. The proposed control structure determination strategy is one of the few that supports switched processes and plants, takes advantage of gramian-based techniques, and is computationally more effective than its only counterpart.
