Abstract

This paperdealswiththeoptimizationoftheprocessesinvolvedinmuoncatalyzedfusion.Muon catalyzedfusion(muCF) isstudiedinalllayersofthesolidhydrogenstructure H/1%T + D2 +HD. The layer H/T acts asanemittersourceofenergetic tm atoms,duetotheso-calledRamsauer–Townsend effect.These tm atomsaresloweddowninthesecondlayer(degrader)andareforcedtotakeplace nuclearfusionin HD. Thedegraderaffectstimeevolutionof tm atomic beam.Thiseffecthasnotbeen considereduntilnowin muCF-multilayeredtargets.Duetomuoncyclingandthiseffect,considerable reactionsoccurinthedegrader.Inourcalculations,itisshownthatthefusionyieldequals180+/-1.5. It ispossibletoseparateeventsthatoverlapintime.
