Abstract

In this dissertation, an attempt is made to present the hydro-aerodynamic mathematical model of a passenger WIG craft with a combined wing in the form of three hulls in the take-off phase. For this purpose, the hydro-aerodynamic modeling of the flying boat from standstill to the cruise phase has been studied by considering the propulsion system. For this purpose, two methods are considered. In the first method, first the aerodynamic modeling of the combined wing and then the hydrodynamic modeling of the fast catamaran float is performed. Finally, in a time-dependent manner, the hydro-aerodynamic modeling of the flying boat is presented with the coupling of these two modeling (aerodynamic and hydrodynamic modeling) and considering the dynamic air cushion under the flying boat. In this method, equations are solved by considering time. The effects of acceleration are observed within the equations. In the second method, the take-off phase of the WIG craft is simulated together using the computational fluid dynamics method. This method is performed in order to consider the interaction of the aerodynamic part with the hydrodynamics of the WIG craft as well as the visual phenomena that were not considered in the first method. In this method, the WIG craft starts moving from standstill when the engines are turned on to reach a constant speed. The ultimate goal of this dissertation is to present a practical solution for modeling the hydro aerodynamics of a flying boat.
