Abstract

Background: Special learning disorder in children is a disorder based on neurological functions that occurs during development as a result of the interaction of genetic and environmental factors and affects the brain's ability to perceive or effectively process verbal or non-verbal information. Aim: The purpose of the research is to investigate the effectiveness of parenting education based on compassion for parents on improving social well-being, loneliness and mental vitality of students with learning disabilities. Methodology: The research method was semi-experimental and its design was pre-test and post-test with a control group. The independent variable in this research is the effectiveness of parenting education based on compassion, and the dependent variable was feeling alone, social well-being, and mental vitality. The statistical population of the study included all students with learning disabilities who referred to counseling centers. Sampling in this research was done by targeted cluster method. Among the counseling centers, one counseling center was randomly selected. After talking with the director of the counseling center, among the referring students, questionnaires on feelings of loneliness, social wellbeing, and mental vitality were implemented. Finally, 30 people were selected as a sample group from those who met the criteria for entering the research, and based on the satisfaction of the people based on attending the training sessions, they were placed in two experimental and control groups (15 people in the experimental group and 15 people in the control group). . The measurement tools included questionnaires of social well-being, feelings of loneliness of Asher and Wheeler, mental vitality of Desi and Ryan. In order to analyze the findings, SPSS24 statistical software was used in two descriptive and inferential sections. In the descriptive part, mean, standard deviation and range of changes were used.
