Abstract

The aim of the current research was the effectiveness of parent behavior management training on the adaptation, empathy and bullying of female students of the first year of secondary school in Hamedan city. The design of this research was semi-experimental with a pre-test, post-test design with a control group, and it was an interventional type of research. The statistical population of the research included all the parents of female students in the first year of secondary school in Hamedan city in the academic year of 2022, whose total number was 1700 (public school: 1530 people and private school: 170 people). The statistical sample was placed in two experimental groups (20 people) and control group (20 people) using the Morgan and Karjesi table in a multi-stage cluster random method. Adaptation variables were measured by Sinha and Singh's 55-item questionnaire translated by Karami (2010), bullying by Alivardinia and Sohrabi's 12-item questionnaire (2014), empathy in this research by Davis' (1983) 21-item questionnaire. The training protocol for parents' behavior management in the current study was a sequential and group training program, and the duration of each session was between 45 minutes and one hour, and included 9 training sessions for parents. Statistical analysis was performed with Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests and univariate and multivariate analysis of covariance by SPSS version 25 software. The research findings showed. There was no significant difference between the control group's compatibility in pre-test and post-test. While in the experimental group, the mean compatibility scores increased in the post-test. On the other hand, the mean empathy of the control group was not significantly different in the pre-test and post-test conditions. While in the experimental group, the average scores of empathy increased in the post-test. Also, in the bullying variable, a slight increase was observed in the scores of the control group in the post-test, while a decr
