چکیده

In the southern tropical regions of Iran, the Eucalyptus medicinal tree (Eucalyptus camadulensis Dehnh) widely cultivated and in some area was the dominant vegetation so that the Eucalyptus honey was produced during the blooming period of Eucalyptus trees. The present investigation was done to determine the foraging behavior of honey bee (Apis Mellifera) during the blooming time of Eucalyptus trees. The research was conducted in southern of Iran, Bushehr province, Borazjan city during spring season. The data were collected at five times in 7:00, 9:30, 12:00, 14:30 and 17:00. These records were measured at four times during the blooming period in the spring season for each colony. In the current study, five times of the day were considered as treatments and the numbers of honey bee that go through to collect the nectar and pollen were considered as the dependent variable. The collected data were analyzed using SAS software and GLM procedure. The outcomes revealed that the numbers of honey bee that go through to collect nectar and pollen during blooming period of Eucalyptus were affected by the times of the day (p < 0.01). The results indicated that the highest numbers of honey bee were recorded in the early hours of the day, and gradually over time the numbers of workers were decreased to go through for nectar and pollen collection. In general, the foraging activities of honey bees in the blooming period of Eucalyptus were reduced over day and temperature increasing.
