General: Water is the most important element in existence after oxygen. Freshwater shortage is an urgent problem in many parts of the world, especially in Iran, and requires better planning of water resources. In this regard, the WEAP model is one of the new generation software with extensive capabilities in the field of water resources management. This model has been widely used in the world and is unique in the field of water resource allocation.
Study area: Bushehr province, especially Abpakhsh, is the center of date palm production in Iran with more than 1.2 million palm trees. Water shortage, low productivity and performance of the Abpakhsh network have endangered the life of palm groves in the region. Given the importance of production, employment generation and high cultivated area, it is necessary for this plant to survive.
Objective: Using the WEAP model and applying the capabilities of this model to evaluate the allocation and management of water resources in the Abpakhsh network has been carried out.
Research Method: First, a map of the study area was prepared using satellite images and GIS, and the main and secondary networks and wells of the area were located. Then, the irrigation network was drawn and simulated in the WEAR model environment with a structure of 7 main channels and 148 catchment channels. After drawing the network, all necessary data was collected, identified and entered into the model. In order to complete the information, the area of channels without data was estimated with the help of satellite images and software. Next, in order to evaluate the scenarios and forecasts, meteorological data for the next 30 years was obtained and entered into the model. To evaluate the system, validation, calibration (EQ), mean square error (MSE), reliability index (RE) and confidence percentage were calculated. Then, 18 scenarios were examined in five axes of channels, wells, irrigation efficiency, climate impact and combination. Results: The results o
