Abstract

This study deals with the factor model, which is a network of bilateral relationships existing between six factors. Greimas came up with it as a response to Propp's legacy, which dealt with characters and their functions. This research aims to monitor the characters' relationships and their various roles in the novel " Arz Zikola " based on the theory of the factor model. The study reached results, the most important of which is that the presence of a narrative system and the multiplicity of actors with multiple roles is clear in this novel, and the actor is represented by the character of the hero (Khaled Hosni), who had the auxiliary factor, and through auxiliary factors the actor was able to activate the subject’s desire, which is the desire to marry. There are also some opposing elements that hinder the actor’s work.
