Abstract

This Poets, relying on their keen perception of the world, recreate and imitate nature, and sometimes they reshape a single subject in their minds. Over time, as the environment changes, themes, forms, and words take on new symbolic meanings, such as the terms "cloud" and "sea," which appear in various forms in the poetry collections of poets. In this article, we aim to describe and analyze the symbolic presence of "cloud" and "sea" in the diwan of Joseph Harb. Through the different images we see of the cloud and the sea, we realize that the connection with elements of nature reveals the emotions of love, sadness, and joy that swirl within the poet. Thus, through this study, we will see Joseph Harb's talent in creating new concepts and symbolic images.
