Literature, as a reflection of human emotions and experiences, plays a key role in shaping culture and national identity. Poets, through appropriate poetic content and structure, capture the audience’s attention to their intended concepts and invite readers into their world of emotions and thoughts by establishing an emotional connection. In this context, Najat Al-Dhaheri, a contemporary Emirati poet, has created valuable works by employing poetic language and diverse themes.
This study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach and utilizes library and electronic resources to examine and analyze the content and structure of Najat Al-Dhaheri's poetry. Her poems delve into emotional and social themes such as love, separation, homeland, friendship, nature, the status of women, nostalgia, praise, elegy, and references to religious figures, guiding readers into her world of feelings and experiences. With a suitable poetic structure and the use of inner musical elements, including pun, antithesis, parallelism, and repetition, along with rhetorical devices such as simile and metaphor, as well as an apt and balanced use of declarative and exclamatory sentences like questions, calls, and wishes, she enhances the impact of her poetry. The findings indicate that Najat Al-Dhaheri, through careful selection of structures suited to the content of her poems and the application of various linguistic styles, effectively conveys her emotions and experiences to readers. She vividly and deeply illustrates rich images of her emotional and social conditions.
