Since the Qajarid period, one of the most important features of the Bushehr is its commercial growth and the subsequent formation of commercial institutions in this Persian Gulf port. In this period, we see the establishment of many trading houses in this small port. During the Pahlavi period and with the change in the comprehensive policies of this government, the commercial role of Bushehr declined. However, we see the continuation of some trading houses in the city. Among this trading houses was the Mehraban Trading House, which started operating later than the others, but continued to operate despite the commercial recession of Bushehr in the Pahlavid period. This research seeks to examine the grounds and process of the formation of the Mehraban Trading House and analyze its impact on the society and economy of Bushehr in the Pahlavid period. This research was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method and using written sources, documents and interviews in the context of oral history.
The results of this study show that this trading house was the outcome of the decline of the Golshani trading house in Bushehr. In fact, the founder of this trading house, who himself emerged from the Golshani trading house, gradually continued to work independently as the role of that trading house declined. During his long presence in the Chamber of Commerce and while managing the trading house, the founder of this trading house was the initiator of the formation of many new institutions in Bushehr and the promotion of commercial services in this port. In addition, this trading house played an effective role in resolving the problems of the Bushehr society. This effectiveness was reflected in maintaining the interactions of this community and pursuing efforts to reduce the economic problems of Bushehr.
