Abstract

Background: Tourism industry of any nations is considered as one of the most lucrative industry as will as the healthy and clean source of income of an economy. It is theorized that promotion of tourism industry is an index of political, social, cultural, economic, security and scientific stability of all nations in world. Among all other parts; health tourism is considered as an important part of tourism industry. Studies which are conducted in health tourism market shows that all countries are making great efforts in all senses and in all aspects to attract health tourists. This study identifies and introduces the types of health tourism, which include: medical tourism and the selection of tourism destinations, tourism infrastructure and therapeutic attractions capabilities that Iran has in the field of health tourism among Islamic countries. Objective: The purpose of this study is to assess the effective factors in choosing a health tourism destination from the perspective of foreign tourists, especially Afghan health tourists, who choose Iran as a destination country for the treatment of disease. Methodology: This study is an applied research from purpose perspective and a descriptive-survey method in terms of data collection method. The statistical population of this study includes all Afghan health tourists who select Iran as a medical destination as well as people who have treatment experience and benefited from medical services in Iran. Data collection tool is a questionnaire. In this research, after data collection SPSS software is used in to summarize the collected data. This study uses descriptive statistics to prepare a variety of tables and graphs to describe the sample derived from population. Smart PLS and Structural Equation modeling are used to test research hypotheses and t-test is used to analyze the current and desired situation.
