Abstract

Abstract Companies use dynamic capabilities to identify opportunities and enhance strategic performance in relation to their business model, as well as open strategies to adapt to changes in the dynamic environment. In this regard, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of open strategy on strategic performance by considering the mediating role of dynamic capabilities development in start-ups. Based on the result or purpose, this research is an applied research, and in terms of methodology, is descriptive, exploratory, and explanatory research. In terms of data collection, the present study is a survey study, and based on the data analysis method, is in the category of quantitative research. The statistical population of this study is start-ups that the senior managers of the companies were selected as the statistical analysis unit. Cochran's formula was used to determine the appropriate sample size in a limited population. In this study, both methods of library and field were used to collect data and information. The library method was used to perform research background and a researcher-made questionnaire was used in the field section. Content validity and construct validity were used to assess the validity of the research questionnaires and Cronbach's alpha test and composite reliability were applied for the reliability of the questionnaires. At first, based on an in-depth review of past studies, indicators of open strategy, development of dynamic capabilities, and strategic performance were collected and then, research model constructs were identified using exploratory factor analysis technique with SPSS software. Then, the confirmatory factor analysis technique based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) was used to determine the effectiveness and accreditation of the research model constructs. Finally, PLS-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-based SEM) was used with Smart PLS software to investigate the considered relationships. The results s
