Abstract
The present study examines the role of international trade interactions in the process of social development of Iran during the decade of 1963-1973 by analyzing the effects of the trade agreement between Iran and the European Economic Community. Since its inception, the European Economic Community, in addition to setting goals for political convergence, has put on the agenda the development of trade relations with non-member countries, especially in strategic regions such as the Middle East. In the meantime, Iran, with the aim of strengthening non-oil exports and removing tariff barriers for four major export products, has established official relations with this community and pursued the signing of a trade agreement. This article, relying on a descriptive-analytical method and using historical documents and data, examines the effect of this agreement on the quantity of exports of the country's four major products.
