چکیده

Sulfur is a very useful substance, great, Low-cost and high-performance in the industry that unfortunately yet balance of the amount of use and the amount available has not been established. Due to the significant progress nanomaterials industry, can by linking sulfur to nanotechnology, increased the range of its applications. Among the potential applications that sulfur can play an effective role in it, adsorption of heavy metals, especially mercury is. Mercury is a metal very dangerous for nature and human that usually through oil and gas and industrial waste is released into the environment. This study follows two main aims. The first and most considerable aim is to broaden the range of applications of sulfur, that to advance this goal, pure sulfur powder by ball mill converted to sulfur nanoparticles at average size 323nm, that at this stage improved physical properties of sulfur. However sulfur with this improved specification among increasing the surface area will be able to increase the efficiency of many industrial processes such as the adsorption and photocatalytic. Here to check effects of nanomaterials sulfur in extension applications of sulfur, adsorption operation is done. To perform this process, at the start of the MCM-TEOS adsorbent synthesis was carried out according to the method as described by in articles with one modification, Then MCM-TEOS was functionalized with sulfur-micron and nano through the impregnation process, thus many properties of silica impregnated with nano-sulfur than silica impregnated with micro-sulfur improved among total surface area, total pore volume and average pore diameter ,respectively, with a difference 125.98 m2/gr, 0.104 cm3/gr and 1nm. Then the adsorption of Hg(II) onto the synthesized adsorbents was investigated in batch adsorption experiments. It is observed that preparation of sulfur nanoparticles in order to sulfur ligand in impregnation of silica, It is the result highest mercury adsorption capacity than two ad
