Abstract

Nanomagnetic biocomposite sorbent synthesized by cellulose extraction from the Cystoseria myricaas algae collected from the Persian Gulf and Fe3O4-nanoparticle. The x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDAX), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were used for characterization. The effects of pH, copper concentration, temperature, adsorbent dosage and contact time onto nanomagnetic biocomposite were studied. The response surface methodology (RSM) was used for optimum conditions of copper uptake. Among the several isotherm and kinetic models studied, the more reasonable models considered.
