Abstract

This study focuses on the aeroelastic behavior of the AGARD 445.6 wing configuration, a well-known model in aeroelastic research, to determine its flutter speed through numerical simulations. The ANSYS Workbench software was employed for its robust Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) capabilities, supported by structured grids generated in GAMBIT. This configuration allows for precise modeling of aeroelastic phenomena under high deformation conditions. The results from the numerical simulation demonstrated a close agreement with experimental data, confirming the validity of the computational model. The flutter speed of the AGARD 445.6 wing was determined to be approximately 156 m/s, with a deviation of about 8% from experimental values. Additionally, the study evaluates the effects of mesh density, aerodynamic damping, and deformation on flutter behavior, contributing to the optimization of computational methods for aeroelastic analysis.
