چکیده

Resistance against enemy is not restricted to a specific period; but, from the time that man sat foot on the planet, they have stood against whatever threatened their safety, the result of which is the resistance poetry (one of the widest fields in the Arabic literature). The poems of many poets have revolved around this concept; hence, the opposition poet tries to induce the hope of freedom to people through his poetry and to provoke the spirit of militancy in the audience. Looking deeply in Palestinian Resistance poetry, ?Abd al-Ra??m ma?m?d stands out as a practitioner of this arena. He withstood against injustice alongside the people of his country. ?Abd al-Ra??m ma?m?d did not remain silent against this injustice and oppression, and appeased his rage through writing love songs. The current research tries to investigate the Resistance and its techniques in ?Abd al-Ra??m ma?m?d’s poems through a descriptive - analytic method and with reliance on statistical methods, and intends to show his life and the revolutionist spirit which plays an important role in his poetry. This study examines the most important aspects of resistance literature and shows the techniques helping ?Abd al-Ra??m ma?m?d in his expressions. The significance of this study lies in the fact that he witnessed the conditions of his time and was able to portray the demands and the sufferings of people. Hence, compared to the other poets who did not observe the situation closely, his poetry is closer to experience and originality. Therefore, the epic and revolutionist spirit that we find in the poet is far greater than those in other poets; his martyrdom for his beliefs proves this claim. The findings of this study show that the poet believes resistance to be the only way to achieve a lasting freedom, because the tyrant Zionists do not understand the meaning of loyalty so they cannot be treated with peace. ?Abd al-Ra??m ma?m?d uses people’s glorious past to motivate them for opposition and resistance
