چکیده

In the recent years vast verities of industries are paying more attention to the production of syngas (hydrogen and carbon monoxide) by using partial oxidation catalytic reaction of methane. As a result of availability and low price of nickel metal in comparison to the rare-earth metals nickel is the most common used catalyst in the process of partial oxidation of methane. To add appropriate promoting as well as that the choice of proper catalytic support will be able to increase the activation and stability of nickel’s catalyst. In this study firstly catalytic support SBA-16 was prepared after that Ni/SBA-16 catalyst with ceria copper copper-ceria promoter were synthesized by the impregnation method that was used in partial oxidation of methane reaction (POM). The properties of prepared catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption (BET) and XRD techniques. The catalytic performance of samples was evaluated in a fixed-bed micro-reactor and Conversion of CH4 in the temperature range of 700 to 850?C was obtained. The obtained results showed that the methane Conversion didn’t change with the addition of ceria at the molar ratio of Ni/Ce of 1/1. However Cu to Ni/SBA-16 catalyst in the same ratio and also Cu-Ce can dramatically decreased activation of catalyst. Furthermore Comparison of methane Conversion on the SBA-16 supported catalysts with the similar catalysts supported on SBA-15 can indicated superior performance of SBA-16 as a catalyst support in catalytic partial oxidation of methane.
