چکیده

As feed for upstream industry, propene is a key ingredient in petrochemical industries. In recent years, with the fluctuation of oil prices, the production of basic and polymeric chemicals using oil-independent methods have attracted the attention of scholars. The production of propene with methanol as feed is a modern method for the production of this valuable substance without recourse to oil resources. One of the bests catalysts used in this process is zeolite ZSM-5. Consequently, scholars are interested in improving the function of this catalyst in terms of its selectivity of propene in this process. Among the various methods to correct and enhance the function of this catalyst is adding metals on the surface of the catalyst. In order to examine the effect of the metals calcium, potassium, cerium and lanthanum on the function of the catalyst H-ZSM-5 in the selectivity of propene in the process of converting methanol to propene, six different samples of modified catalysts, namely, Ca-HZSM-5, Ca-Ce-HZSM-5, Ca-La-HZSM-5, K-HZSM-5, K-Ce-HZSM-5 and K-La-HZSM-5 were synthesised and their function were compared with the control sample of the catalyst H-ZSM-5. All the samples were synthesised using a hydrothermal method and with crystalline units in the nano dimension. In order to detect the properties of the catalysts produced, the XRD, N2 adsorption/desorption, SEM, and SEM-EDAX tests were carried out on each sample. A comparison was made between the function of the catalysts produced in an MTP reaction with WHSV=8 and the pressure of 1 atm at the temperatures 390, 440, and 490 degrees Celsius for calcium-containing samples and at the temperatures 490, 550, 600, and 650 degrees Celsius for potassium-containing samples. Moreover, a comparison was made between the results of calcium-containing samples with WHSV=4 at 490 degrees Celsius and the results of potassium-containing samples with WHSV=8 at 650 degrees Celsius. It was found that the variation in the intensity of
