Abstract
One of the issues that has always occupied the human mind is the meaning of life. This issue is more important in today's world; because today, despite the extensive advances in the field of science and technology, the dust of despair and hopelessness and a sense of meaninglessness have settled on the mirror of human thought, and anxiety and anxiety mixed with a painful sense of fear, doubt and absurdity have spread everywhere. For this reason, different perspectives have sought an answer to the meaning of life, one perspective is the religious perspective; as in religious texts, the purposefulness of creation is reflected and the believing human being has a spiritual life and his life is growing and approaching God. Therefore, spirituality arising from religion in general and the religion of Islam in particular has foundations, components and a structure that has a significant impact on giving meaning to human life. Therefore, the present study, by examining the role of religious spirituality, sought to answer the question: What role does religious spirituality play in giving meaning to human life? The research method was descriptive-analytical and the data were collected using library resources. After examining the foundations and characteristics of religious spirituality, its capabilities and degree of success in giving meaning to life were examined. The research findings indicated that religious spirituality, by having foundations such as the originality of the spirit, the originality of nature, the originality of the unseen world, and the originality of the Sharia, draws a meaning from life for humans that, in addition to having a variety of individual and social functions, has characteristics such as simplicity and clarity, being consistent and responsive to internal tendencies, creating joy and lasting, true hope, etc.
