Permeability decline due to the fouling is one of the main challenges in the application of membranes in the oily wastewater treatment. In this work, the effect of normal-tetradecane additive on the membrane performance was studied and it was observed that the permeability of the membrane has been improved significantly by increasing the concentration of additive in the casting solution. It was notable that the persence of additive in the casting solution has been increased final permeability of membrane while the .Also the result of water flux and porosity showed that mean pore size and porosity of the membranes have been increased by increasing the concentration of additive clearly. It can be concluded that the main reason of these changes is the separation of additive from dope solution during phase inversion which lead to creating the number of pores on the surface and sub-layer of the membranes. It can be concluded that by controlling the concentration of this additive, mean pore size, porosity and performance of membranes could be controlled.
