Abstract

Background: Nowadays, extensive researches are carried out on common substrates in soilless cultivation in order to determine the suitable substrate for each region by considering economic issues, type of cultivation and the effect of these substrates on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the crop. On the other hand, the use of biostimulants in organic and sustainable agriculture with the aim of reducing the use of chemical fertilizers has always been considered. Aim: Considering the consequences of improper application of chemical fertilizers and pesticides during the production process of agricultural products, especially greenhouse products, the present study was conducted to determine the optimal levels of use of seaweed extract as a nutritious and stimulating organic input. Growth and culture media were performed on strawberries of Selva cultivar. Methodology: This factorial experiment was performed in a completely randomized design with four replications in the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the Persian Gulf. Factors of this experiment included Ascophilum nodosum seaweed extract in four concentrations (0, 500, 1000 and 2000 mg / l) and four cocopit culture media, palm waste compost, Conocarpus leaf compost and wood compost. The studied traits also included fresh and dry weight of shoot, number of leaves, leaf area index, number of flowers, average fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit volume, fruit texture firmness, soluble solids (TSS), vitamin C, acidity It was titrable (TA), pH, EC and also leaf analysis was performed to determine the nutrients in the leaves such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium. Conclusions: Based on the results of analysis of variance, the simple effect of seaweed extract and culture medium was significant for all traits. The interaction effect of seaweed extract and culture medium was also significant for all traits except EC. The results of comparing the mean effects
