Abstract

The equilibrium solubility data for CO2 in aqueous solution of MDEA have been determined at temperatures from 303-323 K, and partial pressures from 0.9-124.3 kPa. The experimental results show that the solubility of CO2 in MDEA increases with partial pressure and decreases with temperature and concentration of solvent. Two different mathematical models have been used to analyze the solubility of CO2 in MDEA, including those of modified Kent-Eisenberg and the Deshmukh–Mather. The modeling results indicate that the Deshmukh–Mather modeling provides a better prediction of experimental CO2 loadings than the modified Kent-Eisenberg model when compared with experimental results in this work.
