The tetraaza[14]annulenes have been used as a class of important organic compounds in a variety of areas such as electrochemical activities and interaction with nucleic acids. The general structure of these compounds is shown below (Scheme 1). Scheme 1
In the present study many different metal-free ligand of tetraaza[14]annulene salty derivatives are synthesized. Furthermore, the synthesis of a variety of novel 6,13-disubstituted 1,4,8,11-tetraaza[14]annulene salty derivatives by the reaction of ?-substituted vinamidinium salts with aromatic 1,2-diamines such as 1,2-phenylendiamine in the presence of acetic acid and acetonitrile as a solvent is also reported. The structure of these new compounds are investigated by elemental analysis, UV-Vis, IR, Mass, 1HNMR and 13CNMR spectroscopies (Scheme 2).
