Metal complexes of octaaza[16]annulenes find increasing interest in recent years as
macrocyclic chelates [1,2]. Because of their broad spectrum of applications in chemistry
[3].The mentioned compounds have received a great deal of attention in connection with
their synthesis.
In this project an efficient method for the synthesis of some newOctaaza[16]annuleneswas
introduced base on using vinamidiniumsalts. The reaction pathway to synthesis of the new
ocaaza [16]annulene derivatives from corresponding vinamidinum salts are shown in
Scheme 1
