In the first part of this thesis, An efficient reaction for the synthesis of novel
pyrimidine derivatives has been described by the reaction of γ- substituted
trimethinium salts with thiourea or guanidine in the presence of ethyldiisopropylamine
under reflux in ethanol. Subsequently, we described a protocol for
the oxidative coupling of thiols employing DMSO and finally various disulfanes were
obtained in good yields at 100 °C.
