Metallic nanoparticles can support localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPR) in the optical
wavelength range. We employ two dimensional (2D) Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method to
calculate the electromagnetic fields enhancements associated with the plasmon resonance and plasmon
coupling between an array of cylindrical nanoparticles in air. It is shown that the plasmon coupling is
strongly dependent on distance between nanoparticles.
