Abstract
Introduction: Knowledge sharing among employees is a key component in achieving a competitive advantage for organizations in today's dynamic environment. Knowledge sharing is crucial for organizations. Therefore, the aim of this article is to identify and categorize the barriers to knowledge sharing, rank these barriers, and provide solutions to overcome them in organizations. Methodology: This research uses a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative) and the data collection tools include literature reviews, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. The statistical population of this study includes managers, administrative staff and district managers of the country's public libraries. The research sample consists of 39 people who were selected using cluster sampling. Results: The results of the metasynthesis led to the identification of 72 indicators in four main dimensions, including technological barriers, organizational barriers, cultural barriers and individual barriers to knowledge sharing. The technological barriers dimension includes 12 indicators, the organizational barriers dimension includes 21 indicators, the cultural barriers dimension includes 15 indicators and finally the individual barriers dimension includes 21 indicators. Conclusion: The results showed that “organizational barriers” have the greatest influence and “cultural barriers” have the least influence on knowledge sharing in the country's public libraries. Finally, necessary solutions to overcome the obstacles were suggested.
