Abstract

Background: The most effective institution in the formation of a person's personality is the family. In fact, a family with a favorable function helps to make the atmosphere of the society healthy and provides the basis for the growth and prosperity of its members, and on the other hand, a family with an unfavorable function can be the source of deep suffering for couples. Aim: The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of correcting cognitive bias towards cohabitation on the level of marital satisfaction, conflicts, and marital exhaustion in couples with marital conflicts. Methodology: The research method in this study is semi-experimental using a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this research is all couples with marital conflict in Niriz city. A number of 40 couples with conflict, who scored higher than the cut-off point (115) in the marital conflict questionnaire, and met the criteria for entering and exiting the present study, were selected in the fall of 1400 using convenience sampling and using They were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. Conclusions: The results of this research show that the main hypothesis of this research is that the correction of cognitive bias towards cohabitation has a significant effect on the level of marital satisfaction, conflicts and burnout, and in the post-test stage, the level of marital satisfaction increases and the level of conflicts and burnout increases. Marriage has decreased.
