Developments in the Persian Gulf in the seventh to tenth centuries were mainly toward the establishment of Hormuz government and expansion of its political and economic position. For much of this period Hormuz island played a role as political and economic center of the Persian Gulf. One of the cities of Hormuz government was Qalhat port on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea which in this period became a thriving port. This study examines the situation of Qalhat port in the mentioned developments and situation and asks this question that what was the role of Qalhat port in Persian Gulf political and economic developments in the seventh to tenth centuries AD? In response to the research question this assumption was followed that Qalhat port due to its unique geographical location has had a significant role in developments. Research was carried out by historical way, library techniques and descriptive and analytical approach. After reviewing the evidence, it was concluded that the Qalhat port unique geographical location has helped the military successes and the continuation of political and economic life of Hormuz kings in the Persian Gulf. And in this way has affected the Persian Gulf developments from the seventh to the tenth centuries AD.
