Background: Sacred mausoleums which are the buried and steps of Imam and Sadat (his children) are in the same area. People who are interested in them have built shrines and tombs on their graves in different historical periods and respect them. In addition to their religious function, the holy shrines also have functions from a social and cultural point of view. Shrines in Bushehr city have had an impact on the cultural and social life of different sections of the society. Some of these areas have become cultural hubs and have influenced social relations. This research deals with the historical course of the blessed mausoleums of Bushehr city and their place in social and cultural life in the 13th and 14th centuries of Hijri.
Aim: This research is to get to know more about holy shrines, their functions and cultural and social effects on the lives of the people of Bushehr.
Methodology: This is a historical research with a descriptive and analytical approach. In the first step, the required information has been collected by using library resources related to the subject, studying and extracting the material using the file. The second step of the research was a field visit to the place, interviews and taking photos. In the third step, after collecting data, analyzing them, the main text of the research is written.
Conclusions: The findings show that the blessed area of Bushehr had cultural and social functions during different periods. Among the social effects of this region of unity and solidarity, the impact on mental health and emotional dimension, changes in urban context and development, presence and participation of women in society. Cultural functions such as the development and advancement of tourism, the transformation of blessed mausoleums into cultural poles and the recognition of spiritual and cultural heritage.
