Abstract

Background: COVID-19 is a problem that has breakout worldwide recently, and it has led to physical, psychological, and social issues, especially in adolescent Objectives: The current study aimed to evaluate the health dimension of life quality in active and inactive adolescents in the coronavirus prevalence period. Methods: 350 students from the high schools of Shiraz (175 active + 175 inactive) participated in this study as volunteers. Health-Related Quality of Life questionnaire was used to collect information. Furthermore, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and independent t-tests were used for data analysis with SPSS 18 software (α = 0.05). Results: There were significant differences in the level of quality of life (p=0.001), the general scale of health Psychological (p=0.002) and overall physical health scale (p=0.001) of active and inactive students. There was significant difference between boy and girl students only in the mental health scale (p=0.038). Conclusions: It seems that during the epidemic of covid-19, active adolescent students have had a higher quality of life which can refer to the importance of exercise and physical activity in the epidemics diseases which is an important issue to prevent the educational decline of adolescent students
