Abstract
Which of the relatively broad fields of research in contemporary comparative literature is the field of themes and topics. The topic is a historical and cultural material and one of the constituent elements of the text, hence it has the ability to be analyzed and investigated. Some topics and themes are transnational and universal; such as life and death, good and evil, justice and oppression, love and hate, chivalry and generosity, etc. A comparative study in the mentioned field can lead to the explanation of a chapter, albeit a short one, of the history of thoughts, beliefs and culture of two or more nations throughout history.
