In order to investigate the relationship between the morphological traits, evaluation of potential yield and study of relationship between traits and yield of 12 sesame varieties an experiment was carried out as a randomized complete block design with three repetitions in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Persian Gulf University of Bushehr, during the crop year 2014-2015. The results of analysis of variance showed a significant difference among varieties.
According to Correlation coefficients, relation between 1000 grain weight, number of fertile branches per plant, plant height, number of capsules per plant, the number of seeds per capsules were positive with yield (P <0.01). Factor analysis explained two independent Factors which present 61.34 of total variation among characters. The first factor was contributed to yield and the second Factor nominated as phonological traits. The results of Factor loading showed the importance of morphological traits related to seeds characters and phonology to select the desirable genotypes.
