Complex Predicates have been a source of controversy in many
languages, leading to different explanations in different theoretical
frameworks such as Hale and Keyser (1993), Alsina (1993),
Pustejovsky (1995), Butt (1995) and Ramchand (2008) to name but a
few. Complex predicates have also been investigated in Persian
(Vahedi-Langrudi, 1996; Dabir-Moghaddam, 1997; Karimi, 1997;
Karimi-Doostan,1997; Megerdoomian, 2006; Pantcheva, 2009;
Nemati, 2010b) and other Iranian languages (Jahani, 2011; Korn,
