چکیده

Abstract In early 20th century the world acknowledged the value of oil which is a vital material for economy. Then, European countries like England that was a pioneer in this issue, searched for oil discovery all over the world. But, the increase in oil consumption for providing energy, yield important consequences in urban establishment and development. Efforts of an England engineer with his group in southern west Iran resulted in establishment of the first oil well in Masjed Soleyman and then Iran-England Company established to epilate this rich source. With oil discovery in first 20th century in southern west Iran, industry and urbanism started in this area and very soon the wasteland desserts and abandoned mountainous region of Masjed Soleyman turned to biggest and most advanced Middle Eastern cities. These cities and other company- oil cities in southern oil-rich regions become the source of deep political, economic, and social evolutions. The present study was aimed to investigate and explain the importance of developing oil cities and their political, economical, and social consequences in Iran’s southern oil-rich regions during Reza Shah's reign. This study’s question is what are the political, economical, and social consequences of establishment of oil towns in Iran’s southern regions. This study is based in this hypothesis that oil discovery and establishment of company- oil cities resulted in creation of new urban environment and also in fundamental change in political, economical, and social structures in these regions. This study performed with documentary, library, and domain techniques that organaized based on social-economic history attitude. .
