Khark Island is known as one of the important islands of the Persian Gulf, most importantly because of oil resources and terminals. However, the island's social role is also important in contemporary Iranian history. Most importantly, the island's exile function is during the second Pahlavi period, which has been neglected in researchers' approaches. This research seeks to investigate the exile function of Khark Island during the Pahlavi period and is written by using historical analysis methods, library resources, archival documents, publications, and oral history tools. On this basis, the whole range of exile to this island, the reasons for choosing this island as exile and consequences of this phenomenon on the island of khark in the 20 and 30 solar Hijri decades have been studied. The results revealed that most of the exiles were arrested and exile to khark island of the accusation of membership in the Tudeh party and communalism. However, geographical location and characteristics, including island location, unfavorable climate, the low population of native people, as well as the former cognition of the island by the government played an important role in its selection as an exile. Although, the exile was able to establish well social relations with the natives but they may have had little effect on the natives due to the governments' severe control and short exile. The island's exile function began with oil developments in the mid 30 solar Hijri finished.
