Using vernacular materials is one of the most important architectural features in Iran that suitable materials have been used due to the climatic conditions of each region; as a result of this coordination sustainable architecture arose. The use of native materials can increase the life and durability of buildings and leads to prevent energy waste, recycling, reuse and increase sustainability of buildings. By reusing these sustainable materials the process of building can be led towards sustainability that reduces waste of energy in materials. And ultimately, sustainability of architectural characteristics of the analyzed material leads us to answer the question that we can use these materials to maintain the sustainability of building or not. In this study, materials of historic buildings in Bushehr were investigated with a view to sustainable architecture using descriptive and qualitative characteristics. As well as maximum durability materials against environmental factors has been studied through library, field and interview methods. As a sample, Haj-Raeis-Mansion in Bushehr has been studied.
