Objectives: GAL1 gene belongs to Beta defensins, is small cationic peptides that join to microbial membranes and disrupt their integrity, thus exerting antimicrobial properties. These peptides have an important function in innate immunity alongside microbial pathogens. The aim of the current study was to identify the genetic variants in GAL1 gene sequences in Khuzestan native chickens. Material
