Abstract

Analytical methods for calculating unavailability of complex systems are not always able to deliver results. Proxel-based simulation has shown to be very efficient in reliability analysis of complex systems. In this paper, we apply ftaproxim an R package for proxel-based simulation of fault trees to estimate unavailability of a complex system. ftaproxim can calculate and plot instantaneous unavailabilities of binary/multi-state events and the system.
