A significant family of non-parametric learning strategies for resolving difficult regression problems including non-linear patterns is represented by the Spline-based regression. Penalized parametric regression is a statistical approach for regression analysis aimed at enhancing model performance by introducing penalty terms into the regression equation. By combining these two techniques we model relationships between variables using a regression technique that call semi-parametric regression.
