Abstract

During the Second World War (1942-1945), thousands of Polish exiles from the Soviet Union were sent to Iran after enduring severe hardships in Siberian camps. A small number of these deportees in the host country engaged in numerous media and news activities alongside the media interventions of the Allied powers. Therefore, this research examines the media confrontation and cultural resistance of the Poles aimed at preserving their territorial identity during exile, in opposition to the control of media by the Allied governments in Iran. The present study was conducted based on the description and analysis of data extracted from sources, documents, and media activities in newspapers, news photographs, and radio affiliated with the Allied powers. Initial findings suggest that the political-cultural struggle of these immigrants intensified through the collection of news and its publication in newspapers and magazines, as well as through broadcasting programs on radio or producing films in Iran. This effort was accompanied by heightened censorship from the Soviet Union and even British and American authorities. Additionally
